Personal Thoughts on the Story
Erica Vetsch has done it again! She has written a story that is well researched, shares Christ in a way that is not awkward or pushy and she has given us great characters to draw us into a beautiful story. This story is one I have been waiting to read from this series. I think one of my most favorite characters that has been in the background until now is Bertie. We get to see him in action in this one. His character is quiet and unassuming but he always knows just how to act and what to say to get the information he needs. He is kind and generous in a world full of selfishness and greed.Likewise, Philippa is a true defender of the weak and hurting. She has a heart for doing the right thing and a way about her that puts those around her at ease. She is a beautiful strong woman who has been changed by a mighty Savior and her heart for people is truly a gift from the Lord.
I love that Vetsch has continued to develop these characters and is telling their stories. I love the twist on the idea of a regency novel as she has added spycraft, action and adventure, and seeing the darker side of society. Vetsch pulls no punches and in the end we know that the good guy always wins. The best part is watching it all unfold for that satisfying ending. I love Erica’s books and I think you will, too.
